GCSE
French Revision
Next
Course, Autumn 2008:
11th,
12th & 13th October, 2008 (2 or 3 day option)
Alternative
daters can be arranged on request. Please email well in
advance to secure your place. Your
son or daughter will be met at the airport and supervised
during their stay.
On
request, the 3 day course can be extended by 1 or 2 days to
allow for extra individual support. This may be of particular
interest to students with specific learning requirements when working
towards the GCSE examination.
During the course you will have the opportunity to
revise your oral pronunciation, general vocabulary, oral
and written comprehension, tenses and grammar. Also,
you
will have the opportunity to practise your language
skills with a native French speaker in a unique One-to-One
situation.
Until
recently, Cathy worked as a GCSE Examiner for the AQA examining board
marking papers for the
current French GCSE specification. Cathy
also worked as a full-time French teacher at
Birkdale High School for 9 years.
Class
sizes are kept small and
you will benefit from individual
support and guidance, which is only possible in a small group. Individual
learning needs are always considered a priority.
The
sessions are focused and you will have the opportunity to revise your oral
pronunciation, general vocabulary, oral and written
comprehension, tenses and grammar.
The
course fees include the price of accommodation, breakfast,
lunch and refreshments. There are various options available
for the evening meal, such as self catering or eating out at a
local restaurant (transport provided).
Parents
are welcome to accompany their children and family
accommodation (gîte) can be provided.
One-to-One
During
the
course, you will have the unique opportunity of a
one-to-one with a native French speaker with no English ability. The experience will allow you to really practise
your French in a real life situation.
"The
opportunity to have a one-to-one conversation with a local
resident was extremely enjoyable and a real boost to my
confidence." (C,
from Worcester)
